Arsenal are reportedly looking at Paris Saint-Germain star Goncalo Guedes – currently on loan at Valencia – as a potential target to reinforce their attack.
According to Daily Mail, Arsene Wenger is already looking to put contingency plans in place in case either or both of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil do end up leaving. One of the targets that have emerged is PSG star Goncalo Guedes, who looks to be in blistering form during his season-long loan at Valencia.
Goncalo Guedes was hailed as a gem in Portugal and was linked to Manchester United, only for the starlet to join Paris Saint-Germain in United’s stead. The move seemed to be a good decision early on but the advent of Neymar in Paris saw him being deemed surplus to requirements and being loaned out to Valencia to gain some first-team experience.

The loan move might end up backfiring for PSG though, as Guedes takes La Liga by storm. While the record of 3 goals and 5 assists in 11 La Liga games is noteworthy in itself, the performances have been even more so, drawing interest from Real Madrid in recent times.
Arsenal seem to be in need of reinforcements up ahead, with Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil gearing up for an exit from the club, with the duo set to enter January eligible to negotiate with foreign clubs – clubs from another country – and sign a pre-contract with them.
The Gunners have been looking at a few options – one of them being Thomas Lemar. The report entails that Arsenal are ready to resume their pursuit of the Frenchman but are unlikely to go up to £90 million again. And, if Monaco do not agree to negotiate a lower fee, Arsenal are lining up Goncalo Guedes as an alternative target.
According to reports from Spain, PSG would be willing to sell Gonçalo Guedes for 60M€ to avoid being penalized by FIFA due to the rules of the Financial Fair Play.

There could have been a case for PSG wanting to keep a hold of Guedes. But, there are reports that the French giants are more likely to cash in on the Portuguese, with his current form generating such a scale of interest.
Arsenal will love to have a player like Guedes in their squad. The youngster has bursts of magic in him and could ably replace Alexis Sanchez in the long run at Emirates.
