Liverpool are reportedly plotting a €5 million bid to land Maccabi Petah Tikva midfielder Manor Solomon, who is also being pursued by Juventus.
According to Italian publication Tuttosport, Liverpool are interested in Maccabi Petah Tikva youngster Manor Solomon. The Reds are reportedly plotting a €5 million move for the Israeli midfielder. But, they face competition in the form of Italian giants Juventus, who are also keen on the player.
Manor Solomon is one of the most highly-rated Israeli players in the current footballing scene. At 18, the player has already made quite a splash in the Israeli Premier League while also being called up to the senior international side. The youngster is yet to make his senior debut for Israel, but is expected to soon achieve the landmark.

While Solomon broke into the first-team setup at Maccabi Petah Tikva in the 2016-17 campaign, it is the 2017-18 season wherein the player is starting to show his undeniable talent on a more consistent basis – 2 goals and 2 assists in 7 appearances to date this season.
Liverpool could use with some infusion of creativity and youth in the squad. The Reds do have defensive problems to address. But, the club is always on the lookout for young talented players to add to their squad. And Solomon seems to have made quite an impression on Jurgen Klopp.
Juventus, though, are worthy contenders for the 18-year-old. The defending Italian champions often invest in young prospects and build their talent, slowly inculcating them into the first-team setup with much success in the recent past. Also, with Massimiliano Allegri looking to build a much younger core in the first-team setup, the pursuit does seem logical.
Liverpool though, are intent to nab the player from under Juventus’ nose, with the Reds preparing a €5 million bid to test Maccabi Petah Tikva’s resolve and the player’s intention towards looking for a move to one of the big leagues. Liverpool do have a better recent record of younger players breaking through into the first-team, which could be a decisive factor as well.
Would be terrible idea for Manor Solomon to go to Liverpool now, go on loan in League 1 & all that jazz. Needs to develop in Israel, first.

Jurgen Klopp is often seen as a proponent of youth as seen from his time at Mainz, Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool, which could also lend some weight to the Reds’ bid. It will be interesting to see though, if Liverpool does make the first move and how the Israeli side and the player included react to it.
