Alexis Sanchez has returned to London from Paris, and the PSG target’s future with Arsenal still remains uncertain

According to a report by The Sun, Paris Saint-Germain target Alexis Sanchez has returned to London from Paris with uncertainty still looming over his Arsenal future. The French club have been trying to land Sanchez for months now but Manchester City are believed to be the front-runners in the race to sign him.

PSG are seemingly unperturbed by City’s ever-growing interest in Sanchez and are believed to have continued targeting the Chilean superstar, in the hopes of landing a deal.

The Chile forward has a year left on his contract and Arsenal will be looking to avoid letting him go for free. Les Parisiens, though, will be looking to tempt Arsenal into selling and the deal might not sound so bad to Arsene Wenger since he would ideally prefer selling Sanchez to a club outside the Premier League.

Arsenal endured a lacklustre campaign last term and even missed out on Champions League qualification which led to the forward claiming he is keen on joining a club that will play in the elite tournament next season.

Despite the poor displays by the Gunners, Sanchez was in top-notch form and has, hence, been seeking greener pastures. The talented forward recorded 30 goals and 19 assists in 51 appearances last term and it comes as no surprise that several clubs are intent on obtaining his signature.

With PSG willing to sign him, a move to France could be on the cards for Sanchez. Les Parisiens lost out on the Ligue 1 title to Monaco last season and will be seeking redemption in the upcoming campaign for which they will need a quality player to lead their attack.

It is understood that they have identified Sanchez as the man to do the job, with the Chilean starting to come into his own. Although Edinson Cavani has been holding the fort quite well, it is evident that the club missed the presence of Swedish powerhouse Zlatan Ibrahimovic on the field over the course of the campaign.

Signing Sanchez will be a good investment since the attacker is 28 and can still provide a few more years of top-class football, which is exactly what PSG need at this point. His form has been consistent and he will definitely prove to be a valuable addition for the French club as they look to restore their status as French champions next season.

The fact that Arsenal are against selling Sanchez to anybody in the Premier League can work in favour of PSG despite Manchester City’s interest. It now remains to be seen if they indeed succeed in their attempts at landing the Chilean this summer.
