Transfer News: Arsenal preparing colossal £125 million to beat Real Madrid to Kylian Mbappe

Arsenal are reportedly set to launch a mammoth £125 million bid in an attempt to beat Real Madrid in the pursuit of AS Monaco sensation Kylian Mbappe.

According to a report by The Mirror, Arsenal will launch a staggering £125 million world record bid for AS Monaco teen sensation Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe is currently the hottest young property in European football after his scintillating performances in Monaco’s stunning Ligue 1 victory and their run in the Champions League. Those performances attracted attention from Real Madrid as well but Arsenal will be looking to convince the youngster to move to the Emirates stadium this summer.

The same report also goes to state that Wenger has established contact with Mbappe’s father Wilfried is believed to have been a huge influence in Mbappe’s career.

Mbappe might be only 18 years old but with 26 goals in all competitions – eight in the UEFA Champions League – he has a massive future ahead. A proven goal-scorer with the potential to be developed further could provide Arsenal with a sustained period of success as he matures and grows.

Although Real Madrid appear to be in pole position, Arsenal are clearly not lagging behind. The desperation for a new striker is quite evident due to Alexis Sanchez’s uncertain future and Mbappe fits the bill. In fact, signing a quality goal-scorer like Mbappe can be a huge boost to Wenger’s Premier League ambitions in the coming campaign.

The Gunners have also been targeting Mbappe’s team-mate Thomas Lemar but it is unlikely for the French champions to let two of their assets leave this summer.

Wenger needs to snap a deal soon since so far he has only managed to secure the free signing of Sead Kolasinac. He has also been targeting Alexander Lacazette from Lyon but the financial aspect will be an issue if he tries to sign both Lacazette and Mbappe.

Signing either of them could pose trouble for Olivier Giroud and that is probably why he is keen on exiting the Gunners this summer. He was earlier linked with Lyon but the French club ended their pursuit after confirming a deal for Bertrand Traore from Chelsea.
