Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly entered the race for AS Monaco superstar Fabinho, who remains a priority summer target for Manchester United.
According to French publication RMC Sport, AS Monaco superstar Fabinho is now a summer target for Paris Saint-Germain. The French heavyweights are looking towards the Brazilian as a replacement for Marco Verratti, who is potentially Barcelona-bound. Fabinho, though, remains a priority summer target for Manchester United.
The Red Devils are thought to have agreed personal terms with Chelsea superstar Nemanja Matic, who will fill up the midfield slot. However, it is reported that Fabinho remains a priority for Jose Mourinho, who sees the player as one of the major transfer targets in the summer, especially with his versatility.

Fabinho has become one of the most sought-after properties in world football after the recently concluded season. A full-back by nature, he was mostly deployed in the midfield at Monaco this season; and to good effect, with the player contributing massively to a successful campaign.
9 goals and 3 assists in the league alone, wherein he missed just a single match throughout the season – one can easily map just why Fabinho is one of the hottest properties of the summer transfer market. While interest from other clubs seem to have subsided, PSG have now entered the race.
Marco Verratti has rejected a contract extension at the club and is looking to force a move to Barcelona. PSG, on the other hand, are looking to bring Fabinho over to Parc des Princes. The Director of Sports at PSG, Antero Henrique has already established contact with Fabinho’s representatives over the possibility of a move.
Fabinho, alternatively, may also choose to stay with Monaco, seeing as the club beat PSG to the title last year and may be primed to do the same in the forthcoming season.
However, while they are edging towards agreeing contractual terms with the player, Manchester United wait in the wings. Many expected the Red Devils to cede their interest in Fabinho after edging towards the signing of Nemanja Matic. However, Mourinho has insisted on the Brazilian.

The Portuguese manager may intend to field the player in his more natural position at full-back, which does make sense. But, there has been no agreement with AS Monaco for the transfer of the 23-year-old, which may see the move being hijacked by PSG.
It will be interesting to see if Manchester United continue their pursuit of Fabinho after the announcement of Matic as a summer arrival, a prospect that seems a matter of when and not if, at the present moment. For now, though, PSG seem to be making real progress and could nab the player.
