Joe Hart is reportedly open to moving to Manchester United in the summer after falling down the pecking order at Manchester City.

According to Dave Fraser of the Sun, Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart is looking to stay in the North-West of England, and is open to a move to City’s cross-town rivals Manchester United.

The Red Devils are expected to pursue the England number one if and only if their first-choice goalkeeper David de Gea leaves the club. He has been linked with La Liga giants Real Madrid, and could move to the Spanish capital if United fail to qualify for the Champions League.

The Spaniard could have moved to the Santiago Bernabeu last summer, but due to a delay in the submission of necessary paperwork, the move fell through. This also saw Keylor Navas remain at the club as he was expected to go the other way.

However, the Costa Rica international has not been at his best this season, and Real are reportedly back in the hunt for the Manchester United number one. Despite his solid performances for the Manchester club, De Gea could pack his bags and move to Madrid.

In that scenario, United are reportedly eyeing up a replacement in the form of Joe Hart. The English number one failed to win over the trust of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, who decided to loan him out to Torino.

Guardiola has relied on the services of Claudio Bravo and Willy Caballero, and both the stoppers have often let him down. Despite that, it is almost a certainty that Joe Hart’s Manchester City career is all but over – something the player himself has hinted at during his loan period at Torino.

The England number one is still regarded as one of the finest keepers around Europe, and could be a key addition to most Premier League sides. As per the report, he is expected to be available for £15 million – a real coup given the quality he possesses.

If United are to sign Hart, they will have to act quick, as he is drawing interest from other Premier League clubs as well. Merseyside duo of Liverpool and Everton have been linked with the Manchester City goalkeeper, and could look to sign him, once he becomes available.

The Citizens are understood to be willing to part ways with the Englishman, but are looking for a sum in the region of £20 million to let him go. That fee is not expected to give any of the three aforementioned clubs any sort of hassle, and they could weigh in with offers very soon.
