Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos have reportedly urged Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski to join Real Madrid.

According to a report by Spanish journalist Guillem Balague for AS, Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos spoke with Robert Lewandowski in the imeddiate aftermath of Real Madrid’s UEFA Champions League quarterfinal win over Bayern Munich, and asked him to make the switch to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Whenever you talk about the best strikers in the world, Lewandowski is one name that is sure to prop up every single time. One of the most prolific strikers in the world ever since he’s been in the Bundesliga, he has evolved into a truly complete striker following the move from Borussia Dortmun to Bayern Munich.

Lewandowski does not only have a deadly eye for scoring goals from all sorts of areas, but also makes use of possession cleverly by holding up play and creating chances for his fellow teammates. Numbers prove the tale too, with the 28-year-old making more than 1 direct contribution per game this season.

In all, Lewandowski has played 42 matches across all competitions this season, scoring 39 goals while providing 8 assists. These are truly staggering numbers, and it is no wonder why some of the best clubs in the world keep circling around him over a possible move.

One such club is Real Madrid, where president Florentino Perez is believed to be a huge admirer of the Polish striker’s talents. However, two of the most influential players from the club, Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos took it up upon themselves to lure Lewandowski into making the switch to the Spanish capital.

Lewandowski had a conversation with Ronaldo and Ramos after the Champions League match on Tuesday, when the Real Madrid duo “asked him, without reservation, to sign for Los Blancos.”

Indeed, if recent reports are to be believed, Real Madrid could well be on the lookout for a world class striker in the summer, with both Karim Benzema and Alvaro Morata linked with a summer exit from the Santiago Bernabeu.

While Benzema has endured an inconsistent season for Real Madrid, Morata is eager to leave after getting limited opportunities to start with the first team this season.

In the case of the duo leaving the club in the summer, Lewandowski not only makes for one of the best possible targets for Zinedine Zidane to consider, but even makes for an upgrade on the two, making a possible trio with Ronaldo and Gareth Bale an even more fearsome attacking partnership than the BBC.

However, Lewandowski only recently put pen to paper on a new long-term deal with Bayern that has made him the highest paid player in Bundesliga. Bayern are unwilling to let go of their prized asset as well, and it remains to be seen if Real Madrid can persuade both club and player into making the move a reality in the summer.
