Liverpool have reportedly invited to trial 14-year-old Polish prodigy Jakub Ojrzynski, who was recently on a trial spell at Manchester United.
The Daily Mail are claiming that Liverpool have invited prodigious goalkeeping talent Jakub Ojrzynski to trial at Anfield. The Czech Republic wonderkid was previously on a trial spell at Manchester United and was even a guest at Old Trafford during United’s match against Watford.
Jakub Ojrzynski is a 14-year-old Polish goalkeeper who currently plies his trade for Legia Warsaw. In February, he was called for a training stint with Manchester United, who expressed interest in the player’s services, in an attempt to look at the player closely.
Ojrzynski was also a spectator at Old Trafford during Manchester United vs Watford in the Premier League. However, the Red Devils did not end up signing the 14-year-old on a permanent basis – seeing as the club already has several goalkeeping options at the lower age levels.

Now reports have emerged that Liverpool had invited the youngster for trial last weekend. The Reds’ hand has been forced after the club was handed a transfer ban after being caught in the tapping up of a 12-year-old Stoke City schoolboy, who was poached by the Merseyside club.
Liverpool were found guilty in the incident and were handed a £100,000 fine along with a two-year transfer embargo from signing youngsters from within the British leagues – primarily the Premier League and the English football leagues.
The second year of the ban, however, has been suspended for three years. Regardless, Liverpool are not banned from signing youngsters from abroad – which seems to be their new centre of attention in terms of youth recruitment.

Liverpool may have prodigious goalkeeping talents at various age levels but their first-team setup lacks a quality goalkeeper, unlike Manchester United. The Reds have recruited the likes of Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius in the recent past. But, neither has managed to impose himself onto the scene at Anfield with much success.
Jurgen Klopp has always focused on the youth recruitment policy at every club he has been at and Liverpool seems to be no exception.
It remains to be seen however, if Ojrzynski manages to impress the coaches at Anfield enough for Liverpool to offer him a permanent spot in their roster at the appropriate age level.
