Gareth Bale has reportedly urged Florentino Perez to sign highly rated teenage forward Ben Woodburn from Liverpool in the summer.

Spanish publication Don Balon have reported that Gareth Bale has recommended a compatriot’s name to Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, urging him to buy Liverpool’s teenage prodigy Ben Woodburn in the summer transfer window.

Woodburn has rapidly risen through the ranks at Liverpool, before sensationally making his first team debut for the Merseyside club this season. The teenage prodigy, in fact, became Liverpool’s youngest ever goalscorer earlier this season when he found the back of the net against Leeds United in the EFL Cup.

Still all of 17, the highly rated forward has already become a full fledged member of the English club’s first team squad, and has impressively made seven senior appearances. In all, he has played 19 times for the first team and reserve team this season, scoring 7 goals and providing 6 assists in the process.

And while he hasn’t quite managed to become a regular starter for Liverpool yet, he is a player who is rated very highly by Jurgen Klopp and is regularly involved in his match day squads. In fact, Woodburn has also already earned his first international call up, after he was included in the Wales national squad during the latest international break.

And it is here, where the teenager has also managed to make a mark on one of the best players in the world, Gareth Bale. So much so, that the Real Madrid superstar believes that Los Blancos should now make a move for Woodburn in the summer.

In fact, the report states that Bale sees the 17-year-old as the eventual long-term successor to Cristiano Ronaldo on the left wing, and has thus recommended his name to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.

Woodburn can also provide Real Madrid with an added option in midfield, as he is equally adept at playing as a playmaker than in a more attacking left wing slot, possessing superb technical ability and creativity.

Woodburn’s current deal with Liverpool still has more than two years left to run out, and it remains to be seen if the Real Madrid president indeed heeds Bale’s advice come June. Having said that, he is a player who is rated very highly by the Liverpool manager himself, and signing him could prove to be a tall order.
