Timo Werner has ruled out a summer move away from RB Leipzig amid interest from Liverpool.

German striker Timo Werner has insisted that he is happy at RB Leipzig and has no intention of moving away from the Red Bull Arena amid speculation linking him with a summer move to Liverpool.

Speaking to German publication Welt am Sonntag, Werner pledged his future to Leipzig and clearly ruled out a move to Liverpool, saying, “I want to keep growing together with RB Leipzig and keep developing here.

“I am still only 21 years old and still have plenty of years ahead of me. I am very happy at Leipzig. Joining this club has been a stroke of luck. I have found my way again under Ralph Hasenhuttl.”

Werner has long been rated as one of the most exciting prospects to have emerged out of Germany in recent years, and his move from Vfb Stuttgart to Bundesliga newcomers RB Leipzig has only seen the 21-year-old continue his development at an impressive rate.

Deployed as a centre forward by Leipzig boss Ralph Hasenhuttl, as compared to being a winger at Stuttgart, Werner boasts some impressive numbers, bagging 14 goals and 6 assists in 24 Bundesliga games.

The young forward is rightly being rated as one of the most promising players in Europe and his impressive performances this season have now earned him a maiden callup to the German national side. In addition to that, he is also starting to attract interest from clubs across Europe.

Jurgen Klopp is one of his biggest admirers, and with reports stating that the Liverpool boss is prioritising attacking reinforcements in the summer, Werner was identified as one of the top targets.

Werner is accustomed to playing in a system similar to the one employed by Klopp at Anfield, and offers a lot with his versatility to play across the front three, making him one of the most ideal players suited to fit in the Liverpool attack.

However, Werner is adamant that he is not even thinking about a move away from Leipzig in the summer, seemingly happy playing under Hasenhuttl with the East German club. This has, thus, thrown a spanner in the works for Klopp, and the Liverpool boss must now set his sights elsewhere for an attacking addition.
