Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly revived their interest in Isco and are set to battle Barcelona and Manchester City for the Real Madrid midfielder.

The Daily Mirror have reported that Tottenham Hotspur are set to enter the market for Isco and are lining up a deal to bring the Real Madrid misfit to White Hart Lane in the summer. The Spain midfielder is also being tailed by Manchester City and Barcelona according to reports.

Isco’s journey as a Real Madrid player seems to be approaching its end. This is in stark contrast to when he was signed by the Spanish giants in 2013 in a £25.5 million deal, considered as one of the most exciting young players in Spain.

While his first three seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu could be called some sort of a success, with several impressive performances to boot, 2016/17 has been nothing short of a struggle for the 24-year-old, having made just 11 starts all season.

He has scored 5 goals and provided as many assists in those games. And alongside the numbers to back his bid for more game time, Isco has shown time and again that he can be an asset to the team by being equally adept at playing in the midfield as well as the wide areas.

However, Zidane has chosen to prefer other players for these positions and widespread reports in recent weeks have only fueled speculation of Isco being closer to the exit door at the Santiago Bernabeu. Isco himself admitted earlier this week that he could leave Real Madrid at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Zidane also fueled the speculation further by admitting that he understands where Isco is coming from. With Isco looking set to be on the cusp of moving away from the Spanish capital in the summer, clubs are circling around him.

Barcelona have been linked with a shock move for the youngster but it looks highly unlikely that Real Madrid will sell any player to their fierce rivals. Manchester City are also interested in Isco, with Pep Guardiola keen to add top quality young players to his squad in the summer. The Citizens were reported to have a verbal agreement with the player

Tottenham are the latest club to enter the mix for Isco, with Mauricio Pochettino eager to bolster his attacking options in the summer. Moussa Sissoko has struggled since his move to White Hart Lane, while Son Heung-Min and Erik Lamela have blown hot and cold. Isco’s possible acquisition will, thus, add definite quality in the final third for the Tottenham boss.

So, Isco seems to be heading towards the exit door at Real Madrid. There are a few clubs that are lining up to sign him and it will be interesting to see which way he heads off to in the summer.
