Transfer News: Real Madrid star Mariano Diaz on the radar of Eintracht Frankfurt

Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt are reportedly looking to secure a loan move in January for Real Madrid star Mariano Diaz.

Spanish publication AS have reported that Eintracht Frankfurt are interested in taking Real Madrid star Mariano Diaz on loan in January. The player has finally managed to break into the Real Madrid first-team setup under Zinedine Zidane and has even scored his first goal for the club.

Diaz is currently the third-choice striker in the first-team setup at Real Madrid for Zidane but the player needs more first-team minutes in order to continue his development, which has caused widespread interest in the player’s services with the likes of Valencia, Sevilla, Alaves, Deportivo La Coruna, Leganes and Malaga all vying for his signature.

And now, Eintracht Frankfurt seem to have joined the list of admirers for the 23-year-old. Frankfurt have had a brilliant start to the current campaign and find themselves in the European qualification places 14 games into the season. Alexander Meier is perhaps the only quality striker in the squad for the club, who are now seeking additions to their attacking arsenal as they brace for a battle for European places.

The report by AS states that Eintracht’s sporting director Fredi Bobic had a meeting with Jose Angel Sanchez in Bernabeu and put forward the loan proposal for Mariano Diaz while also requesting a two-year extension for Jesus Vallejo’s loan duration at the club.

While the latter offer was swiftly rejected as Madrid plan to incorporate Jesus Vallejo into the first-team setup next season onwards, the former offer may just be the perfect opportunity for Mariano Diaz.

The player would gain some much-needed experience of a foreign league while also gaining first-team playing time with regularity. Also, the presence of fellow Los Blancos academy graduate in Jesus Vallejo could help aid the player’s settling in at the Bundesliga club.

Mariano Diaz has already shown he has the pedigree and hunger for success at the very top tier of the footballing world and while he may not be ready to lead the Real Madrid attack now, the signs look promising for the 23-year-old as Mariano may just become the next Spanish forward sensation to come through at the Bernabeu.
