Paris-Saint Germain are reportedly set to offer Liverpool £40 million for the services of English attacker Adam Lallana in January.
After joining Liverpool from Southampton in the summer of 2014, Adam Lallana has gone on to become an important part of the Reds’ first team — first under Brendan Rodgers and this season under Jurgen Klopp.
During his time at Anfield thus far, he has made over 100 appearances for the club despite recurring knee, hamstring, calf and groin injuries and has scored 16 goals and registered 17 assists in the process.
According to English daily The Sun, Ligue 1 champions Paris-Saint Germain are preparing to test Liverpool’s resolve with a massive £40 million bid for the Englishman in January.
The report states that the French giants rate the 28-year-old very highly, and quotes an ‘insider’ from the club as saying: “His age is not a problem as the club want the best players — and he is one of them”.
The report also states that Dutch Legend Patrick Kluivert, who is currently Director of Football at the Parc De Princes, believes that Lallana is the best English player in the Premier League. PSG are ready to offer the England international a massive £200,000 per week to swap Anfield for the Parc De Princes.
Lallana hasn’t featured for Jurgen Klopp’s side after he picked up a groin injury whilst on international duty with England and he is expected to be out for another two or three games.
The Englishman has featured 11 times for Liverpool in the league this season, starting 10 of those games, and has established himself as a key player for Jurgen Klopp. He has registered 3 goals and 5 assists in helping the Reds to second place on the table, only a point behind league leaders Chelsea.
PSG, on the other hand, are languishing in 3rd place in Ligue 1, behind OGC Nice and AS Monaco. As such, it would not be a surprise if Unai Emery was desperately looking to add more quality to their ranks in the upcoming transfer window.
