Moussa Dembele has committed his future to Celtic, insisting that he will shrug off interest from the likes of Manchester United and continue his development with the Scottish champions.

Manchester United have reportedly been monitoring Celtic striker Moussa Dembele, with Portuguese boss Jose Mourinho said to be an admirer of the French starlet’s talents. The Red Devils are now set to table a bid for the 20-year-old when the transfer window opens in January.

Dembele, however, has shrugged off interest from the record 20-times Premier League title winners, and is adamant that he is fully committed to playing for the Scottish giants. He spoke in the aftermath of Celtic’s 2-0 loss to Barcelona at Parkhead on Tuesday, after failing to make a mark and fluffing the only good chance that came his way on the night.

As reported by Daily Mail, Dembele rubbished the transfer rumours saying: “That is what everyone is saying but I haven’t said that. For me, I am here until the end of my contract and for many years. It is not something I think about. I don’t listen to those stories.”

Dembele went on to add that he will be playing Champions League football for Celtic yet again next season, confirming he’s staying there “100 per cent”. He added: “I want to keep playing in the Champions League and keep playing in the Champions League for Celtic first. Because I think I will stay here 100 per cent. I want to keep improving and keep developing as a player.”

Celtic bowed out of Europe on Tuesday night after going down 2-0 to Barcelona at Parkhead, with Argentine superstar Lionel Messi scoring a brace to send the Scottish champions crashing out. Despite the missed chance, Dembele remains one of the most highly rated youngsters in Europe.

French under-21 international Dembele signed for Celtic in the summer from Championship side Fulham. His move to the club has been a highly successful one thus far, having netted 16 times in 26 appearances in all competitions already, at an impressive 116.25 goals per minute. With Dembele confirming his stay at Parkhead beyond this season, Brendan Rodgers and Celtic fans are sure to be delighted at retaining his services.
