Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has put to rest, rumours linking him to Premier League giants Manchester United, and has insisted that he will stay at White Hart Lane for a ‘long, long time’

Reports last week claimed that England international Harry Kane could be on the radar of Manchester United and other Premier League biggies after contract talks between the striker and Tottenham Hotspur seemed to have broken down.

Kane currently, reportedly, earns only £60,000-a-week, an amount that is said to be behind the likes of new arrival Moussa Sissoko, who is rumoured to be earning £95,000-a-week. International teammates Jamie Vardy, Daniel Sturridge and Theo Walcott earn far more than last season’s Golden Boot winner, causing unrest in the Kane camp.

Kane’s current contract does not run out until 2021, but the 23-year-old has insisted that he expects to have no issues with his contract, after leading a last-gasp Spurs comeback with a brace to beat West Ham United 3-2 at White Hart Lane on Saturday night.

As reported by Mirror, Kane said: “Hopefully we will have no issues with the contract. There’s not many better feelings than being at White Hart Lane and scoring in a London derby. So yeah, I am happy at the club and want to be here for a long, long time. We are in talks and I’m sure we will get something sorted.”

Kane went on to add that the future is bright at Tottenham and that he aims to win trophies with the club. The Englishman also said that he is flattered that clubs like Manchester United are making a beeline to sign him.

He added: “The future is very bright. It’s important that we keep hold of all our players and keep building on this great team that we have. For us, now it’s to start winning trophies and competitions – that’s the next step. I think it [transfer rumours] shows that I am doing well, for one thing.”

Kane has only recently made a comeback from an ankle injury that sidelined him for nearly two months. He has since scored thrice in two games, equalizing in the North London Derby three weeks ago before the late brace against the Hammers. With the visit to Chelsea later this week, Mauricio Pochettino and Tottenham will be hoping the striker can continue his goal-scoring run.
