The Premier League trio of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City are keeping tabs on Inter Milan’s young forward Andrea Pinamonti.
According to Italian media outlet Gazzetta dello Sport (Bleacher Report), Liverpool are one of three Premier League sides interested in signing Inter Milan’s young forward Andrea Pinamonti. Arsenal as well as Manchester City are understood to be keeping tabs on the 17-year-old. The Italian is also being followed by Barcelona, Juventus and Valencia.
Pinamonti has been firing on all cylinders for Inter’s youth team this season, bagging ten goals in seven games. He has represented the Azzuri under-17 side last season, and could be on the periphery of a senior international call-up within a couple of years.
The youngster’s contract at the San Siro runs out in 2018, but the Italian side are looking to tie him down to a long-term deal due to the attention he has been attracting in the past few months from a host of the top European clubs.
Being a centre-forward by trade, Pinamonti has the tendency of dropping deeper to give his wingers the freedom the make more central runs. His ball control is exceptional and there are few in the Italian national pool that have a better composure in front of goal than him.
Given Arsene Wenger’s tendency to sign raw players, Pinamonti may tick all the boxes for the Arsenal manager. Also, given the struggles of Olivier Giroud last season and with Lucas Perez struggling to adapt to life in England’s top flight, the Frenchman may consider the 19-year-old as one for the future.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has a number of strikers to pick from, but apart from Roberto Firmino, none of his front men have quite lived up to the billing. With Danny Ings set for long spells on the sidelines, and Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi fighting a tough battle to return to match fitness, Pinamonti may be a decent addition to the roster.
For Manchester City, barring Kelechi Iheanacho, Pep Guardiola does not have an potent replacement for the injury-prone Sergio Aguero up front. Also, with a huge payroll and transfer budget, it may not be too difficult for the Citizens to lure the Inter forward to the Etihad Stadium.
