Arsenal have joined other European superpowers in the race for 20-year-old Celtic talisman Moussa Dembele.

Dembele had scouts from Real Madrid and Barcelona watching over him as he helped Celtic dismantle Rangers with a superb hattrick. It was Celtic’s first hattrick in the Old Firm Derby since 1966 and according to Calciomercato, the scouts had eyes only for the young Frenchman.

Prior to this, Chelsea and Antonio Conte were reportedly interested in acquiring him during the summer, before they eventually went on to Diego Costa and brought in Michy Batshuayi.

Now Calciomercato report that Arsenal have joined the Spanish heavyweights in the race for the former PSG youth player. Arsenal have a great reputation for nurturing young talent into top class players with the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Cesc Fabregas, Theo Walcott, Robin Van Persie and most recently Hector Bellerin all joining Arsenal at a young age and going one to become fantastic players.

It is no surprise that Dembele has been courting the attention from Europe’s top clubs. After moving to Fulham in 2012, he made his senior debut in 2013 and went on to score 19 goals in 64 appearances over the course of 3 seasons there.

He moved to Celtic in the summer and under the watchful eyes of Brendan Rodgers, has enjoyed a stunning start to the season. He has scored a total of 12 goals in a mere 16 appearances this season for the Hoops, with 6 in the league, 3 in the league cup and 4 in European competition.

This included a hat-trick against Rangers in the Old Firm derby and most recently, his astounding brace against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side in the Champions League group stage tie.
