Transfer Rumour: Inter Milan consider South American duo Miguel Almiron and Zeca

Inter Milan are reportedly considering Miguel Almiron and Zeca as potential additions to the squad in the coming transfer window.

Italian publication Football italia have claimed that Inter Milan are keeping an eye on Miguel Almiron and Zeca. The South American duo is currently plying their trade in the continent with Miguel Almiron at Lanus while Zeca plays his football in Brazil for Santos.

Fellow Italian publication calciomercato have reported that there has been a change in Inter Milan’s scouting department and that the Nerazurri have now earmarked South America as a priority for scouting and unearthing new talents.

Inter Milan have already secured the services of Gabigol from the continent and calciomercato reports that the duo of Almiron and Zeca have been on their list of targets for a long time.

Miguel Almiron has become a proven talent after switching to Argentina’s Lanus from home club Cerro Porteno in Paraguay. The player was linked with a move to Europe with Arsenal interested in securing a transfer, but a move failed to take shape before the transfer deadline.

Zeca, on the other hand, plies his trade at Santos and alongside Gabigol, was a part of the Brazilian Olympic Squad that secured a historic gold at Rio. The player is a regular at the right-back position for Santos and has earned rave reviews in and around the country for his performances at the club.

Both the players seem to have proven their talent at club level in South America while also establishing themselves in the international circuit with appearances for the senior squad and Olympics squad respectively.

While Inter Milan would have some advantage in Zeca’s case, having already negotiated with Santos in their capture of Brazilian starlet Gabigol, the Nerazzurri are expected to face some competition for Almiron with the player retaining interest from Arsenal.

Inter Milan, though, have a new-found pedigree in the transfer market with the backing of Chinese investors and would be ready to compete and come out on top against other top European clubs in their pursuit of the South American duo. The club already showed this earlier in the summer beating the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Juventus, Leicester and others to the signing of Gabigol.
