Transfer News – Italy: Stevan Jovetic Heading to AC Milan; Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere to Roma

After negotiations for Cesc Fabregas are proving to be very difficult, Milan are close to securing Stevan Jovetic from cross town rivals Inter Milan. AS Roma have reportedly agreed personal terms with Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere.

Sportitalia, who broke the earlier story about Milan’s interest in Cesc Fabregas, are now saying that Milan are close to securing a deal with bitter rivals Inter for Montenegro international Stevan Jovetic (via Football-Italia).

Jovetic was close to returning to his former club Fiorentina earlier in the day – a move that has since collapsed according to reports. The forward has scored 6 goals in 26 appearances for Inter and has quickly fallen out of favour with new coach Frank de Boer.

Although it is reported that a deal is close to completion, the details of the potential agreements are not yet available with the Italian press. However, it can be speculated owing to Milan’s financial crisis at the moment that the formula for the deal will have to be an initial loan with an option to buy.

Roma Approach Arsenal for Wilshere

Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere has been linked to many clubs since yesterday, one of them being Milan. Earlier, we came to know via Sky that Arsenal had entered the race to sign the injury-prone midfielder, once touted as the biggest prospect in England.

It seemed like a two-horse race between Crystal Palace and Bournemouth for the midfielder with Daily Mirror claiming that Wilshere has even met Alan Pardew and is seriously evaluating the offer.

Now BBC is reporting that Roma are strongly interested in the 24-year-old and have agreed terms with the midfielder. Roma have been looking for a cheaper option in midfield as a backup to Paredes, who is still young and relatively inexperienced.

Roma’s dire financial crisis started after their inglorious Champions League Qualifier exit to Porto as the club incurred a huge loss of some 40 million euros. Earlier, Roma were linked to free agent Mathieu Flamini, who is also an ex-Arsenal player. Roma have already negotiated with Arsenal once this summer over Szczęsny, as the Gialorossi could negotiate with Arsenal once again.
