Transfer News: Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti says club not after Javier Hernandez

Manager Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly told the media that Bayern Munich are not chasing Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier Hernandez.

ESPN have reported that Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti has refuted claims by media that the club are interested in a move for Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier Hernandez. Bayern Munich have, thus far, signed Portuguese international Renato Sanches and Borussia Dortmund captain Mats Hummels and the report states that Ancelotti believes that would be the only purchases to be made by the Bavarians this summer.

Bayern Munich are currently preparing for a friendly against AC Milan in the United States of America and manager Carlo Ancelotti professed his affection towards the Mexican forward at a press conference in Chicago.

I have a lot of love for Chicharito. He’s a very serious professional and I had a very good relationship with him at Real Madrid,” he told the reporters.

The Italian, however, was quick to add that he had no intention of bringing the former Manchester United striker to the Allianz Arena while reiterating that he felt the squad at Bayern was well-rounded and complete at present.

I think now that he’s at Bayer Leverkusen, he’s going to be a very strong opponent, but an opponent is what he is. I’ve got to consider him an adversary. As I’ve said, the team is good as we are — we are covered in every position. I’m really happy with the players we have got — we’ve got a lot of quality. We don’t need to buy other players because we have a good squad.

Javier Hernandez, or Chicharito, has been in great form for Bayer Leverkusen since joining the club after finding himself on the fringes at Manchester United. The striker notched up 21 goals in the domestic competitions for the club last season and has attracted interest from Serie A champions Juventus. The Bianconeri, however, have signed Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli and have had a bid accepted for Santos starlet Gabigol. It is most likely that the Old Lady would not be pursuing the former Manchester United forward any further.

Bayern Munich have been rumoured to be interested in the striker but with Ancelotti coming out to deny the reports, it looks likely that Javier Hernandez would be staying with Bayer Leverkusen this season.
