According to reports, Juventus are now discussing personal terms with Borussia Dortmund play-maker Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

It had been reported earlier this week that Henrikh Mkhitaryan wanted to leave Dortmund after spending two years at the club. He was set to turn down a contract extension at Dortmund and will be looking for a move away from the Westfalenstadion. Henrikh has enjoyed a stellar season under the management of Tomas Tuchel and is being scouted by Europe’s top clubs.

If latest reports emerging out of Italy are to be believed, Juventus have already tabled an offer for the Armenian. According to a report in Football Italia, the Biaconeri are offering Mkhitaryan a deal which would see him pocket €4 million per year, but his agent Mino Raiola is holding out for €6 million.

The report further states that Juventus manager Max Allegri has requested the Juventus board for a creative midfielder with experience. Valencia won’t entertain any offers for Andre Gomes from Juventus and Roma are not willing to sell Pjanic, so the Biaconeri are fast running out of options. The Italian champions have already missed out on Ilkay Gundogan, as it was confirmed on the Manchester City official website that they had signed him up.

Same story, different season

Mkhitaryan isn’t short of potential suitors and Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal are sure be keeping a close eye on developments as they also try to step up their interest in the Armenian international. He’s scored 23 goals in all competitions this season and 15 assists in the Bundesliga alone.

It’s back to that familiar time of the year for Borussia Dortmund, when their biggest stars are set to leave in search of greener pastures elsewhere. Gundogan has signed for City, Mat Hummels has signed for rivals Bayern Munich and now Dortmund may be resigned to losing star striker Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang as well. In recent years, they have had to see Lewandowski and Gotze leave the club to enjoy success at Bayern Munich and much loved manager Jurgen Klopp leave the club to eventually join Liverpool.

It is a tragic story for a great club that has risen from financial obscurity to become one of the most feared and admired clubs in Europe once again. It is going to be interesting to see how they replace all these big names and keep challenging for the top titles amongst Europe’s elite.
