Manchester United have agreed a deal with former Chelsea FC boss Jose Mourinho that will make the Portuguese the new manager at Old Trafford, according to various reports from the English media.
Jose Mourinho has been on the forefront of the news this week, ever since former Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal was sacked by the club, just two days after the Dutchman won them their first trophy (FA Cup) in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era.
After a week-long saga, both parties have reportedly agreed on a deal, with Sky Sports reporting that Jose Mourinho has already signed a contract with Manchester United. Interestingly, former United defender Rio Ferdinand also confirmed on his Twitter handle that Mourinho has indeed “signed” for Manchester United.

Mourinho’s agent has reportedly been in talks with Manchester United throughout the week, trying to hammer out various details of the Portuguese manager’s contract. One of the main issues with the new deal was that Chelsea still held the image rights to Mourinho’s name. That issue has been sorted out though, and the two parties have agreed on a three year deal, according to The Guardian.
However, there are come conflicting reports about the status of the agreement between the two parties, with the Daily Mirror and the BBC reporting that Moruinho has not signed the contract as of yet. These reports suggest that there has only been a verbal agreement between the two parties.
There was obviously some excitement among the Manchester United fans at the latest development in this story. Here are a couple of the best reactions.

However, this news was not taken so well by the Chelsea faithful, who still hold Mourinho in high regards.

Not all Manchester United fans were too pleased at Mourinho’s appointment though.

However, whatever the opinion of the different fans may be, the Mourinho saga, as this particular fan points out, has gone on for too long.
The #MourinhoToUnited saga has dragged out that long I don’t think anyone actually cares anymore now he’s finally officially been appointed.
