Ronaldo brushed off any injury concerns after limping out of a training session ahead of the Champions League final against Atletico on Saturday.
Real Madrid and their legion of fans all across the world held their collective breaths as Cristiano Ronaldo limped out of a training session on Tuesday after a clash with Kiko Casilla and Dani Carvajal.
However, after a quick examination by the club physios, Ronaldo was confident that he’ll be back to full fitness ahead of his side’s meeting with their cross-town rivals in Milan. “I’ve had a small scare, sandwiched together, but in a couple of days I will be good,” said Ronaldo (as reported by the BBC).
Ronaldo, 31, has been facing thigh injury problems this season, such as the one which forced him to miss a couple of games in April. The upcoming Champions League final against Atletico Madrid, a repeat of the 2014 final, is widely considered by pundits as the toughest challenge Real Madrid would face in Europe this season.
Ronaldo would be required to play a crucial role in breaching Atletico’s resolute defence, which has held its own against the attacking might of Barcelona and Bayern Munich earlier in the season, on Saturday if Real Madrid are to win their record 11th European title.
