Liverpool FC transfer roundup: Reds dealt blow in Lewandowski pursuit; Rafa Silva’s agent confirms Premier League switch

Robert Lewandowski is unlikely to reunite with former manager Jurgen Klopp at Anfield, with Real Madrid reportedly set to go all out in pursuit of the Bayern Munich superstar.

Jurgen Klopp, who flirted with the idea of a reunion with Robert Lewandowski at Anfield, has been dealt a blow with Real Madrid set to go all-out in the summer to acquire the Poland international’s signature.

According to the Daily Star, with Karim Benzema odds on to leave the Bernabeu in the summer, the Madrid club will do whatever it takes to land their man from Bayern Munich. While incoming Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is also reportedly looking to convince the striker to follow him from the Allianz Arena to the Etihad Stadium and with Manchester United also in the mix, it looks like Liverpool’s pursuit of the former Borussia Dortmund striker could suffer a premature end.

Rafa Silva wants Premier League move, confirms agent

SC Braga’s Portuguese international Rafa Silva has had a good season with the Liga Sagres outfit, scoring 12 goals and assisting 4 in 46 appearances so far for the club. His performances have invited the attention of the likes of Liverpool, who have reportedly sent their scouts to watch the 22-year-old left midfielder in action for Braga.

Hence, it is no surprise that the comments from his agent confirming the youngster’s interest in the Premier League has put the English giants on red alert.  His agent Antonio Araujo told Sports Witness, “Our client, Rafa Silva, sees with very good eyes the possibility of playing in the Premier League. We are working towards achieving this objective.”

Silva has earned 5 international caps for Portugal and looks set to take the flight to Euro 2016 along with the national squad to France in the summer. The Liverpool target has also attracted the attention of the Merseysiders’ bitter rivals Manchester United, who feel the Portuguese will be a valuable addition to the club’s midfield.

Jordan Rossiter set to move to Rangers

Liverpool’s 19-year-old midfielder Jordan Rossiter is nearing his exit from the club, with a move to Rangers in the Scottish Premiership on the cards for next season. The youngster, who had a promising start to life in the first team last season with a goal on his debut against Middlesborough in the League Cup, has seen consistent injuries derail his prospects of making the grade in the first team.

With the likes of Kevin Stewart, Cameron Brannagan, Pedro Chirivella, Lucas Leiva and Joe Allen lining up as more than suitable replacements for the first-choice eleven, Rossiter’s future at the club has looked bleak on his return from injury.

In January, the player was told by the club that he was free to move to a non-English club should he choose to leave. In what looks to be a £250,000 move, Scottish giants Rangers are looking to complete the necessary formalities to secure the midfielder’s move to the Ibrox in the summer.

Reds after Charlton startlet Ademola Lookman

Liverpool have entered the race along with Tottenham Hotspur to sign Charlton Athletic’s £8 million rated forward Ademola Lookman. The 18-year-old won the Championship Apprentice of the Year award for his performances with the club through the 2015/16 season. The Addicks, who have been relegated to League One, will look to cash in on the hot prospect by selling him in the summer.

Spurs reportedly made a bid to buy the striker last summer, but Charlton weren’t ready to part with their man then. Liverpool, who also brought Joe Gomez to Anfield from the Valley last summer, will look to add to their Charlton recruits with the acquisition of the young forward.
