Under-fire Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger rebuked the Gunners’ fans for creating a “difficult climate” at the Emirates, prompting furious reactions on Twitter.
Arsene Wenger has been the subject of widespread criticism at the business end of this campaign as another trademark Arsenal capitulation sees them back in familiar territory, fighting it out for a fourth-placed finish.
There is unlikely to be any reprieve for the Frenchman after he suggested that the unrest caused by Arsenal fans may have had a part to play in the Gunners’ poor performances at the Emirates.
Here is how Twitter reacted to Wenger’s controversial claims:
The irony of Wenger talking about manipulation and agenda, whilst in the last decade he’s taken over £70m in wages.
He’s lost the plot.

@LeeGunner82 He’s become a senile, arrogant old folkie who thinks he’s made Arsenal. I hope he gets dogs abuse tomorrow.

Following tomorrow if the club think the protesting stops, they’re very much mistaken. It won’t stop until change happens, guaranteed.

Wenger: “Away from home we are the title winners.” – That’s an absolutely scandalous thing to say. It’s not even true either. He’s lost it.

I think Wenger is having a competition with himself to see how much shit you can talk week after week after week

Wenger’s comments might do much more harm than good, particularly to his own position in Arsenal’s managerial hot-seat.
Oh dear. Wenger press conference really going to cause meltdown. No manager anywhere in world football lasts long when take on own fans

Call me CRAZY but Wenger blaming Arsenal fans for blowing the title isn’t smart the day before they’re planning a protest against you.
