Although Sevilla silenced the Nou Camp by taking an early lead against Barcelona on Sunday, Lionel Messi restored parity with one of his best goals of the season.
Barcelona moved eight-points clear at the top of La Liga with a tightly-contested 2-1 win over Sevilla at the Camp Nou on Sunday. The Catalan supporters had their talisman Lionel Messi to thank for the comeback.
The Argentine levelled the scores with a jaw-dropping free-kick in the 31st minute, before teeing up centre-half Gerard Piqué for the winner just after the half-time interval. Unsurprisingly, fans took to social media to rave about the little magician’s wonder goal, which was in similar vein to the free-kick he scored just a fortnight ago against Celta de Vigo.
