The clash between Juventus and Bayern Munich was seen as one of the toughest matches in the Champions League Round of 16 this season, and it certainly lived up to that billing.
As expected, the Bavarians hogged possession, with the Bianconeri trying to play on the counter with both Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic up front. However, the whole plan backfired, as Bayern Munich pushed more numbers into the midfield area and got the goals their play deserved
Massimiliano Allegri, who made a few tactical mistakes in the first half, moved his pieces around and brought Hernanes in place of Claudio Marchisio in the second half.
This was by far Hernanes’ best match at Juventus, Bayern took foot off gas in 2nd half but the Brazilian midfielder came through

This substitution worked wonders, as the Old Lady came back from two goals down to draw 2-2, with Paulo Dybala and Stefano Sturaro cancelling out goals from Thomas Muller and Arjen Robben. Here are some of the best tweets about Juve’s brilliant comeback.

In the end however, it is Bayern Munich who look the more likely to go through to the quarter finals of the competition, as they take two away goals to the Allianz Arena ahead of the return leg.
