Luis Enrique hails “spectacular” Barcelona
Speaking to the media after the match, Barcelona manager Luis Enrique heaped enormous praise upon his players after their breathtaking display against Celta Vigo on Sunday.
“I see these players be even better in training and some things make you stand still,” said Enrique (as reported by football espana). “Playing Celta isn’t an easy match. We lacked finesse in the first half in the final metres.
“It might seem like an easy game but we’re strengthened by this. Historic? I think it’s beautiful. Historic will be when we win trophies.”
Asked about Messi’s outrageous penalty which invoked the memories of Barcelona legend Johan Cruyff, Enrique replied, “The penalty is legal. We all know the famous one, Johan Cruyff. We try to win trophies and in addition have fun. Disrespect? Who talk about that? We have to respect our team. This country accepts a kick more than a piece of skill.
“We know why this happens. It will keep happening and we know where it comes from.”
