Manchester City will have the quartet of Kompany, Silva, Aguero and Toure available together for the first time since the first four games of the season as they prepare to host high flying Tottenham Hotspur.
Since the fateful day the quartet last played for the Citizens, 21 games have been played and Spurs have recovered from a shaky start to take the second position in the league, with City blowing hot and cold at times and sitting in the fourth position, a point behind Spurs.
Pellegrini confirms Kompany return
Confirming the return of captain Vincent Kompany, Pellegrini was quoted as saying by ESPN FC: “It’s important to have our important players all of them together. We start the season with Vincent, Silva, Toure and Aguero all of them playing in the first four games. After that, for different reasons, this is the first time they will play again together.
“It’s impossible to know [if Kompany will have any more setbacks] but he’s working without any problems, without fear, so it would be bad luck if he has another injury.”
City squad curtailed; Spurs have an almost full strength squad
Manuel Pellegrini will have David Silva recovered in time to play the game, but will be without the services of Samir Nasri, Kevin de Bruyne, Jesus Navas and Fabian Delph, with Wilfred Bony and Eliaquim Mangala also out injured.
Tottenham do not have any major injury concerns, with Jan Verthongen the only notable absentee.
Manchester City predicted XI (4-4-2): Hart; Sagna, Kompany, Otamendi, Clichy; Silva, Fernandinho, Toure, Sterling; Illeanacho, Aguero
Tottenham Hotspur predicted XI(4-2-3-1): Lloris; Trippier, Alderweireld, Wimmer, Davies; Dier, Dembele, Alli, Lamela, Eriksen, Kane
