Chelsea FC star Eden Hazard has sparked rumours of an exit from Stamford Bridge by indicating that he would like to play under the stewardship of childhood hero and France legend Zinedine Zidane.
Hazard has been reportedly unhappy at the West London club, and his poor form is something that has been irking both fans and critics. This has already sparked speculations that Hazard might be looking for a move from Chelsea.
“It’s always nice to hear that a player that I admired during my childhood talks about me,” Hazard was quoted as saying by Belgian outlet Sudinfo.be. “I always liked Zidane. Now I know the player by heart but don’t know the coach at all, even if he’s started very well at the Bernabeu. I’m also still under contract at Chelsea and I feel very good there.”
While there have been large scale rumours that Real Madrid might be the next destination for Hazard, the Belgian has stoked the flames with his recent praise for Los Blancos coach Zinedine Zidane.
“Yes of course. When I was little, I watched him on television and the internet for hours. I talked Zidane and I ate Zidane. But, and I repeat it, I feel very good at Chelsea so it’s not news,” Hazard further said.
Hazard to replace Ronaldo?
While there has been a lot of talk about Hazard’s exit from Chelsea FC, Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has also been featuring in the back pages with rumours of his own exit from Real Madrid. The sudden sacking of Rafael Benitez is something that has reportedly not gone down too well with many of the players at the club, and this could result in a mass exodus at Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
Ronaldo himself has been linked with a move back to Manchester United, or even a transfer to French Ligue 1 champions PSG, and this could generate massive bids on Real Madrid’s part to land top players like Hazard at the Santiago Bernabeu.
