Arsenal FC Sign Scout Who Helped Leicester City Sign Riyad Mahrez

Leicester City might be five points clear at the top of the Premier League table, but Arsenal FC might already have dealt a blow to the Foxes, just a week ahead of their match against Claudio Ranieri’s team at the Emirates on Sunday.

Ben Wrigglesworth,  who was the head of technical scouting at Leicester City, has confirmed that he would be leaving the Foxes to join Arsenal this week. Wrigglesworth is one of the scouts who had a hand in bringing thoroughly underrated players like Riyad Mahrez and N’Golo Kante to the King Power Stadium earlier this season.

Both the players have been quite a revelation at Leicester this season, as they have gone on to take the Foxes to the top of the table, where they are sitting comfortably with a five-point lead over north London clubs Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal FC.

Wrigglesworth confirmed his shift from Leicester to Arsenal in a series of emotional tweets that revealed that he is still perhaps a fan of the Foxes.

Leicester City’s big blow ahead of Arsenal clash?

While the Foxes are sitting pretty with a five point lead at the top, they would know that there are still plenty of games for them to slip up in, and hand the title to Tottenham, Arsenal or Manchester City. Thus, they would certainly not be dwelling on the fact that their old head scout has jumped horses and moved to the Emirates.

Wrigglesworth would now be taking over as the head of the first-team video scout at Arsenal FC, and it would be interesting to see his reaction at the Arsenal-Leicester game scheduled for Sunday.
