Manchester City’s Yaya Toure Considering A Move Away After Announcement Of Guardiola’s Arrival

The Ivorian midfielder has worked with Pep Guardiola previously at Barcelona, and after the announcement of the Spaniard’s arrival next season, his agent has said that he may decide to leave Manchester City.

The 32-year-old midfielder left Camp Nou for the Etihad Stadium in 2010, after he was replaced in his preferred holding midfield role by Sergio Busquets, thanks to then Barca manager Pep Guardiola. He has since justified the 25 million pound price tag with his exploits for Manchester City, becoming a key member of the squad.

However, now that Guardiola is set to take over at Manchester City, Toure may be a bit unsettled about his future at the club and his agent Dimitry Seluk has stated that he might be on his way out.

“I think Yaya will leave the club. But before leaving I hope he will win again the League and all the cups,” said his representative, according to The Sun.

“It’s not a question of whether Pep likes him or not. It’s life, you know.”

“Pep can call Yaya and speak to him to let him know ‘I’m with you’ or ‘I am not with you’.”

Yaya Toure’s role in Manchester City’s evolution

Toure’s agent also spoke about the Ivorian being the harbinger of change for the blue side of Manchester, referring to the Citizens’ technical director Txiki  Begiristain and chief executive Ferran Soriano.

“Yaya opened the door for the people who worked for Barcelona. Yaya went to a place where many changes were necessary. He was not afraid. But now everybody from Barca comes to City.”

Seluk signed off by throwing down the gauntlet for the incoming Catalan manager from Bayern Munich.

“Yaya won every trophy in England without Guardiola. Will Guardiola win without Yaya?”
