Chelsea FC set a £80 million buyout for Eden Hazard

Chelsea FC are finding it difficult to find their form this season, and so is their talisman Eden Hazard, who has been linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Eden Hazard hasn’t scored in the last 20 Premier League games for the title defenders this season, and seems to have lost the magic from last season when he scored 11 times and assisted 6 goals in 29 Premier League appearances.

The Belgian international is said to be one of the favourites of the current Real Madrid manager and football legend Zinedine Zidane, who has made Eden Hazard a priority transfer.

Although Hazard was the player of the season in Chelsea’s 2014-15 title-winning season with the highest number of chances created last season, he has only managed to pop out a total of three assists in all competitions this season.

According to The Sun, Roman Abramovich has set the transfer fee for Eden Hazard at £80 million, and though Hazard has struggled this season, top clubs like Paris-Saint Germain, Barcelona and Real Madrid have shown interest in signing the winger. Hazard’s first-choice is donning the white at Santiago Bernabeu.

Chelsea can expect a star exodus following a season languishing at the mid-bottom of the league table.

Although Chelsea FC have improved their quality of football since the arrival of Guus Hiddink, even after Sunday’s win over Arsenal they’ve only reached the 13th spot, 14 points behind Tottenham Hotspur at the 4th spot, with 15 games remaining.

With Chelsea’s Champions League chances looking bleak for the next season, Hazard’s exit and maybe that of a few other stars is inevitable. Eden Hazard has shown interest in playing for the Spanish giants in Madrid, but he also did sign a contract extension last year. The transfer deadline is approaching and what happens in the next few days might dictate the rest of the season for both Chelsea FC and Hazard.
