Liverpool FC Transfer News: The Reds Prepare A Sensational Bid For Disgruntled Juventus Striker

Premier League strugglers Liverpool FC are reportedly preparing a sensational bid to sign disgruntled Juventus striker Alvaro Morata.

According to the Italian news agency Gazzetta WorldLiverpool are interested in acquiring the services of the former Real Madrid striker whose current season has blighted by a lack of form and niggling injuries. However, Morata was instrumental in the Old Lady’s historic double winning campaign last season.

The 23-year-old, whose goal knocked out former employers Real Madrid in the semi-final of the Champions League last season, also scored in the final of the tournament as Juventus eventually lost out to a Lionel Messi inspired FC Barcelona.

This season however, Morata has been unable to hit the ground running in the Serie A, losing out to Massimiliano Allegri’s favoured attacking partnership of Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic upfront. With the Euros coming up in the summer and Morata’s place in the Spanish squad at stake, it won’t be surprising to see him make the move to English shores in order to play more first team football.

Liverpool in dire need of attacking reinforcements

Sitting in 9th place in the league table, Liverpool have found it incredibly hard to hit the back of the net on a regular basis this season. Having converted a mere 10.3% of all chances created in 2015-2016, the Reds have scored among the fewest goals in the top flight this season.

While Daniel Sturridge has been out injured for most of the season, new signing Christian Benteke has failed to hit the heights that saw Liverpool pay £32 million to Aston Villa for his services. With the Reds in dire need of a proven goalscorer, it is perhaps not surprising that Klopp is interested in signing the mercurial Spaniard from Juventus.
