Jurgen Klopp Reportedly Readying £25 Million Deal To Sell Star Striker

Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp is increasingly frustrated about Daniel Sturridge’s injury issues, and the German is reportedly ready to sell the 26-year old this January.

As reported by the Daily Star, Jurgen Klopp has gone past the threshold point with regard to Sturridge’s absence due to injuries, and has begun negotiations with clubs to sell the Englishman.

Liverpool ready to listen to offers up to £25 million

Sturridge has played just 106 minutes under Klopp and hasn’t featured since picking up a hamstring injury at the start of December. The 26-year old posted on social media after the victory over Leicester City on Boxing Day,  that he was “Good to go”.

However, Klopp called for caution and the former Chelsea man had to complete a mini pre-season to ensure no further set-backs.

Sturridge missed more than half of last season with calf and thigh problems, and with more than half of the 2015-16 season gone, the Englishman has appeared just 6 times so far.

It has reportedly tempted Klopp to make a move, with the Reds setting a £25 million price tag on Sturridge.

Wise decision by Liverpool?Newcastle United vs Liverpool FC

The 2013-14 season was the last time the world saw Sturridge’s brilliance alongside a rampant Luis Suarez. The deadly duo helped Liverpool FC finish second in the league, and Sturridge ended the season with 25 goals.

The 26-year old can be stunning when on form, but so can Theo Walcott, Fernando Torres and Radamel Falcao. Like the three players mentioned, Sturridge increasingly looks like his fitness woes will never give him the chance to exploit his potential.

As for Liverpool, an ‘overpaid’ Benteke seems to be doing a decent job upfront, but reinforcements in terms of defence are required. And £25 million can buy the Reds a pretty sturdy back line.
