Mikel Arteta has named a strong starting lineup for Arsenal, with Gabriel Jesus leading the line, but they are missing William Saliba from the matchday squad against Liverpool.
Mikel Arteta has named his strongest possible lineup to face Liverpool away from home. The Arsenal boss had some key decisions on his hand and may have taken with the idea of finding the best route to victory at this venue. William Saliba, however, misses out altogether with his injury.
Arteta had to choose between Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Jesus up front and has chosen the latter. In defence, Rob Holding retains his place owing to Saliba’s injury. But apart from that, the team looks rather familiar.

Aaron Ramsdale starts in goal with a now familiar back four ahead of him. Ben White continues in the right-back slot, with Oleksandr Zinchenko preferred at left-back. Holding and Gabriel Magalhaes continue their central defensive partnership.
Thomas Partey sits at the base of the Arsenal midfield, with Martin Odegaard and Granit Xhaka on either side. Bukayo Saka returns to the starting lineup. With Jesus leading the line, Gabriel Martinelli takes his position on the left side of the front three.
