Arsenal Confirmed Lineup vs Wolves: Martinelli starts; Smith Rowe, Tomiyasu absent from squad

Mikel Arteta has named a strong side to take on Wolves with only one change as Gabriel Martinelli comes in place of the absent Emile Smith Rowe.

Mikel Arteta has decided to make just one change from Arsenal’s win over Brentford as Gabriel Martinelli returns to the team in place of Emile Smith Rowe, who remains absent from the matchday squad.

The same backline from the Brentford game takes the field as Cedric starts at right-back, while Ben White and Gabriel keep their central defensive partnership intact. Kieran Tierney is the undisputed choice at left-back, with Nuno Tavares an option on the bench. Aaron Ramsdale starts in goal with Bernd Leno on the Arsenal bench. Takehiro Tomiyasu is absent from the matchday squad.

Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka will continue in the double midfield pivot, as they have been tremendous when starting together in the team. Albert Sambi Lokonga and Mohamed Elneny are options off the bench if needed during the game.

The in-form Martin Odegaard starts in the advanced midfield role behind the front three. Bukayo Saka starts on the right-hand side of the attack with Nicolas Pepe on the bench as his cover. Martinelli features on the left side of the attack, with Alexandre Lacazette leading the Gunners’ line.

Arsenal Starting Lineup: Ramsdale; Cedric, White, Gabriel, Tierney; Partey, Xhaka; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Lacazette.
