Liverpool Confirmed Lineup vs Watford: Shaqiri returns; Milner in for Robertson

Xherdan Shaqiri returns while James Milner replaces Andrew Robertson as Liverpool get set to take on Watford at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp has made three changes go the side that beat Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League earlier this week as Liverpool prepare to lock horns with Watford at Anfield.

There is no looking past Alisson Becker in goal, with Adrian being his deputy once again. The first two changes come in defence, with Andrew Robertson being given a bit of a breather, while Dejan Lovren is out injured.

In Robertson’s stead, James Milner starts as Liverpool’s left-back. Joe Gomez comes into the side in place of the injured Lovren, partnering Virgil van Dijk at the heart of the Liverpool defence. Trent Alexander-Arnold, meanwhile, retains his place on the right flank.

The third and final shuffle comes in midfield, with Naby Keita dropping to the bench, as part of Klopp’s policy to rotate his players. Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum keep hold of their places, with Keita being replaced by Xherdan Shaqiri.

Shaqiri’s inclusion could perhaps signal a change in formation to a 4-2-3-1. Shaqiri will have the usual suspects, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino for company in the Liverpool attack, with Divock Origi a possible option to test a tired Watford defence later in the game, coming off the bench.

Liverpool Starting XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, van Dijk, Milner; Henderson, Wijnaldum; Salah, Shaqiri, Mane; Firmino
