Arsenal Confirmed Lineup vs Crystal Palace: Jenkinson, Mavropanos in defence; Ozil returns

Arsenal take on Crystal Palace with a much-changed side from their midweek victory over Napoli, with Emery changing personnel in defence.

Unai Emery has kept the upcoming games in his mind when selecting his lineup for the home clash against Crystal Palace. The Spaniard has made six changes to the team that beat Napoli away from home, with much of it coming in defence personnel. Sokratis is suspended, while Nacho Monreal only finds himself on the bench, as Emery seemingly experiments with his back line.

Dinos Mavropanos, who started against Watford in Arsenal’s last Premier League game retains his position despite being left out against Napoli. Shkodran Mustafi keeps his place as a replacement for Sokratis, while Laurent Koscielny remains intact at the heart of their defence. Carl Jenkinson is preferred to Ainsley Maitland-Niles at right wing-back, while Sead Kolasinac retains his place on the left.

Mohamed Elneny comes in for Lucas Torreira and partners Matteo Guendouzi in central midfield. Granit Xhaka, who reportedly suffered a knock against Napoli is out of the squad altogether along with Aaron Ramsey who is set to miss the next few weeks.

Mesut Ozil returns to the side and takes up Ramsey’s no.10 role, and ahead of him are star strikers Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette. On the bench, Emery will be hoping to count on the services of Monreal, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Alex Iwobi, Maitland-Niles, and Torreira. Young striker Eddie Nketiah is also included among the substitutes against Crystal Palace.
