Unai Emery has made a series of changes to his starting lineup to face Watford with Konstantinos Mavropanos making his first league start this season.
Unai Emery makes multiple changes to the Arsenal starting lineup, most notably to the shape of the team in a bid to contain the threat posed by Watford. Emery has preferred a back four instead of a three-man backline he has favored in recent games as Arsenal bid to win their away game. Konstantinos Mavropanos comes in the lineup while Sead Kolasinac and Ainsley Maitland-Niles are on the bench.
Laurent Koscielny begins the game after being absent for the previous two league games and partners Mavropanos. Shkodran Mustafi starts at right-back with Emery cautions in his approach. Nacho Monreal takes his place at left-back, meanwhile.

In midfield, Lucas Torreira returns to a league lineup after being absent for three games and partners Granit Xhaka, who has missed the last two league games through an injury. Aaron Ramsey is preferred in the No. 10 role in place of Mesut Ozil, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Iwobi are the preferred options out wide. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will lead the Arsenal line for Arsenal.
Those many changes have ensured Arsenal have a strong bench against Watford as Emery will be able to call upon the likes of Alexandre Lacazette, Kolasinac, Ozil, Maitland-Niles and Matteo Guendouzi for a substitute’s role later in the game.
