Anthony Martial is among five changes made by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to his most recent side as Manchester United prepare to host West Ham United at Old Trafford.

Martial comes into the side in place of Marcus Rashford, who drops down to the bench. The Frenchman will have Romelu Lukaku as his strike partner, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer set to use what looks like a 4-4-2, albeit not a traditional one.

Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard are the “wide midfielders” who will likely be overloading the central areas. Fred and Paul Pogba retain their places in midfield, while Scott McTominay has been benched, perhaps with an eye on next week’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg against Barcelona.

The big changes though, come in defence. With Ashley Young and Luke Shaw suspended, Diogo Dalot starts as a right-back, with Marcos Rojo being handed a rare start as the left-back. At the heart of the Manchester United defence, Chris Smalling has Phil Jones as his partner.

That means Victor Lindelof drops to the bench, possibly with a view to being rested, just like McTominay. Lindelof and McTominay also have Mason Greenwood for company among the substitutes. David de Gea starts in goal, with Sergio Romero continuing to remain his deputy. The Spaniard will also don the captain’s armband for Manchester United against West Ham.
