It’s been 13 years since Steven Gerrard scored that legendary long-range screamer against Olympiakos in a Champions League group stage match at Anfield.
Several memorable goals were scored before then, and many many breathtaking goals have been scored since then, but that powerful strike still remains one of the finest moments in Steven Gerrard’s career.
That screamer of a goal ensured Liverpool’s progression into the knockout stages of the tournament before Liverpool eventually won the tournament in an equally enthralling fashion, coming back from three goals down to trump AC Milan as Istanbul.
Philippe Coutinho has now attempted to recreate that magical goal during one of Liverpool’s recent training sessions, with James Milner and Divock Origi aiding him. So how did the Brazilian magician go about recreating THAT Gerrard goal? Have a look.
Match THAT Steven Gerrard @ChampionsLeague screamer? ?
Far from easy!
