Real Madrid returned to winning ways after a two-game losing streak as they beat Malaga 2-1 in La Liga to extend their lead at the top to four points. Despite a late goal from Juanpi Anor, Los Blancos held on to pick up three points.
With an attacking trio of Lucas Vazquez, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo, Real surprisingly opened the scoring through defender and captain Sergio Ramos. Known to have a penchant for scoring headed goals, the Spanish centre-back headed home Toni Kroos’ corner in the 35th minute to open the scoring.
The German midfielder was the provider for the second goal as well, but this time Ramos slotted the ball into the back of the net with his feet. Kroos whipped in a menacing ball in from a free-kick that missed the heads of all the players inside the box and fell straight to the feet of Ramos who stretched to reach the ball and beat keeper Carlos Kameni all ends up.
