Arsenal showed signs of improvement on Saturday evening, as they emphatically beat Swansea City 4-0 in Paul Clement’s first game in charge of the club.

The former Bayern Munich assistant manager set his team up to defend, and his side turned in a disciplined performance during the early stages of the match to frustrate the Arsenal attack. However, as half time approached, the deadlock was broken thanks to Olivier Giroud’s goal from close range.

Arsenal picked up the tempo in the second half as they looked to put the game to bed. They doubled the lead through a Swansea City own goal in the 53rd minute, as Alex Iwobi’s shot was turned in by Jack Cork into his own net.

In the 67th minute yet another Alex Iwobi shot resulted in an own goal, and Kyle Naughton was the culprit this time around. Alexis Sanchez then completed the resounding win, as his neat finish made it 4-0 and lifted Arsenal back into the Top 4 and into 3rd place.

Giroud, in particular, was a talking point as he continued his fine goalscoring form, and the France striker has now scored in every league start that he has made since April 2016. He seems to be enjoying himself after signing a new deal with Arsenal, and you can enjoy the Frenchman’s goal yet again, here:
