They left it very late, but they did it. Real Madrid mounted an incredible comeback to draw 3-3 at Sevilla to advance to the quarter-finals of Copa del Rey and set a new Spanish record of going 40 games unbeaten.

Real Madrid were leading 3-0 from the first leg, and Sevilla needed to produce something special in order to overcome Los Blancos juggernaut. And the home side took the lead early on through a Danilo own goal.

However, Marco Asensio levelled things up just after half time, with a brilliant individual goal.

Sevilla, however, had no intention to go down without a fight, and they went two clear thanks to goals from debutant Stevan Jovetic and Vicente Iborra. With 13 minutes to go, Real Madrid were on the verge of having their remarkable unbeaten run snapped.

But Sergio Ramos gave the Madrid fans some hope with a Panenka penalty to make it 3-2.

And with just a few more seconds to go, Karim Benzema made it 3-3 to send the Real Madrid squad and fans into a frenzy and keep their unbeaten streak alive.
