Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera looked lively playing in-behind Rooney and looked at home playing the role of a shadow striker. The 23-year-old was exquisite with his ball distribution and kept things ticking in the final third for Manchester United.
He even grabbed a goal to show for his exploits and will also have given manager Jose Mourinho a selection dilemma ahead of the game against Leicester City on the weekend.
