David Ospina was given the nod over Petr Cech to start Arsenal’s first Champions League game of the season and justified his selection with a spellbinding performance against Paris Saint-Germain.

Arsene Wenger opted to go for his second-choice goalkeeper David Ospina ahead of Petr Cech for Arsenal’s Champions League opener against French side PSG. After conceding a goal in the first minute of the game, the Colombian was unbeatable between the sticks for the rest of the game.

He denied striker Edinson Cavani twice in one-on-one situations and also made a miraculous save off Angel di Maria’s curling corner that almost found its way into the back of the net. Ospina kept Arsenal in the game and was arguably their best performer on the day.
