Having received two yellow cards in the Coppa Italia last season, Manchester United’s new signing Paul Pogba has been suspended for his side’s league opener against Bournemouth.
The English Football Association, via its Twitter handle, announced on Wednesday that Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba will be suspended for Sunday’s game against Bournemouth. They explained the decision in another tweet that stated: ‘He [Pogba] was booked twice in last season’s Coppa Italia, which results in a one-game ban. This has been transferred to England.
With the #PLkickoff this weekend, did you know four players are serving suspensions?

Had no idea suspensions can carry over from country to country. At least Pogba wasn’t suspended by United ?

How on earth can a ban from Italy be carried over to England. That is just farcical! Pogba won’t play anyway but that’s not the point.

Pogba not playing! #Bummer #MUFC

Very gutted to hear Pogba is suspended for Bournemouth game but should be amazing to see him get more fitness for his Old Trafford return

I guess it’s fitting that pogba makes his debut for the club again at OT #MUFC

Have to wait a week longer to see Pogba, it just means he’ll be more ready and making his debut at Old Trafford. ⚽️?
— Thomas (@ManLikeMata) August 12, 2016
However, others seemed to have a rather indifferent reaction about the whole scenario.
Pogba being banned for the opener makes no difference he’s only been back in training for a couple of days I doubt he’s match ready yet.

The @FA is ?. Make it up as they go
I’m not overly concerned that Pogba is suspended as he should train for a week b4 he starts but come on
— Richie Yemie Stark (@RichieYemie) August 12, 2016
It’s not too big a deal that Pogba is suspended he definitely wouldn’t have started anyways he’s just got back from holiday, not fit enough.

Why are united fans pissed Pogba can’t play vs Bournemouth? Scared he won’t be able to show his worth in the other 37? He won’t anyway
— ㅤ (@KalousInTheName) August 12, 2016
Reality is #Pogba wasn’t going to debut this week; he is just back from an extended vac. having helped France reach the finals of the Euros.
