It’s been a frustrating week for Arsenal fans when it comes to the transfer market. With big moves for Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez and Inter striker Mauro Icardi failing to materialize, they were linked with former Manchester United defender Johnny Evans. The dismay was compounded as they were recently linked to Man City striker Wilfried Bony.
The 27-year-old Ivory Cost striker has been deemed surplus to requirements by new City manager Pep Guardiola. The Citizens paid £25 million for him last January, but recent reports have claimed that key figures in the Arsenal hierarchy are urging Arsene Wenger to launch a £30 million bid for Bony.
Gooners everywhere were largely disappointed that this was what their transfer window had been reduced to.
Surely the rumours about arsenal looking at bony for 30m are some sort of sick joke

I read somewhere that Arsenal were keen on signing Wilfried Bony. I shuddered. I’ll weep If it had to happen.

However there were some Gooners who felt that a possible move for Bony wasn’t such a bad idea, just as long as the transfer fee was right and he wasn’t the only major Arsenal signing for the rest of the summer. In fairness, the Ivorian was decent during his one and a half seasons at Swansea City.
2015: Wilfried Bony signs for citeh. Gooners ask why Arsenal didn’t buy him.
2016: Wilfred Bony linked to Arsenal. Gooners ask why?

Wilfred Bony to Arsenal is ok, but as a stop-gap measure. & at a price not more than £15M. #Arsenal
