Xherdan Shaqiri scored a belter for Switzerland in their Round of 16 game against Poland. The goal sent the game to extra-time, but the Swiss side eventually fell short in penalties.
With a one-goal lead, Poland looked to have been going away with the game before Switzerland attacker Xherdan Shaqiri spoiled the party for them. The Stoke City player stepped up to the occasion and scored a scorching bicycle kick from the edge of the 18-yard-area.
This is one goal you could watch over and over again:
The footballing world on Twitter reacted to what was probably the best goal of the Euro 2016 so far:

Hard luck, Switzerland. Shaqiri’s wonder goal was the highlight of the game but they had so many other chances. Fabianski had a blinder.

#SUI 1-1 #POL #EURO2016 – Shaqiri’s is the second scissors goal in Euros history. The first one, by Antonio Conte vs #TUR in 2000

Equaliser! Former #FCBayern player #Shaqiri with a fantastic over-head kick to possibly bring this game into extra time. #SUIPOL 1-1
— FC Bayern English (@FCBayernEN) June 25, 2016
Could Shaqiri do that though on a wet, cold Tuesday night in Stoke?
— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) June 25, 2016
A brilliant Mark Hughes-style volley from Shaqiri: he even had the athleticism to twist round to be facing goal in time to see it go in …
